My thanks to those of you who entered your dogs for me to judge. Also to the Midshires Committee for their hard work and to my very efficient ring stewards.
BIS was MOONHILL POWER OF DREAMS, RBIS was MOONHILL SIMPLY A DREAM and BP was BALFARG BE BOP A LULA

Minor Puppy Dog (2, 1a)
1. Molloy’s Nellbrook Unexpected For Pyesbridge. Appealing 8 mth dark slate with super head and extremely dark eye. Good length to height proportions. Long ribcage & level topline. Good tail carriage. Balanced puppy of nice type. Just needs to tighten up a little in hind action on the move. BOSP

Puppy Dog (3, 2a)
1. Martin’s Talibee Shining Star. Another nice puppy well presented. Slate going through pale stage. Well balanced head with soft, gentle eyes. Correct bite. A little short of coat under the body at the moment which makes him look slightly rangey – but this illusion will change when coat grows length. When settled, moved soundly and freely.

Junior Dog (7, 4a)
1. Evans’ Pattishawl The Performer. Slate just 12 mth with attractive head, eye & expression. Good reach of neck flowing into well-laid shoulders. Nice depth of chest. Correct shaped croup. Neat low set hocks. In excellent coat & good bodily condition. Steady, controlled mover.
2. Pentons’ Ravalonsky’s Elahad Of Benfalcon. Dark slate of larger and heavier build than 1. Very strong in head with large, round, dark eyes. Mature for age. In good coat. Just preferred the overall balance and outline of 1.
3. T. Shining Star

Yearling Dog (5, 2a)
1. Betts Pipadene Time To Review. Admired this boy as a puppy and pleased to see him maturing into a lovely adult. 23 mth brown with excellent pigment & eye colour. Broad flat skull & strong muzzle. Correct bite with broad jaw. Coat going through typical change for age – quality adult coat on the way is rich dark brown. Presented a lovely outline on the stand – love the way handler free stands her dogs. A strongly made and well constructed dog throughout and confident steady mover.
2. Hoods’ Bryonyhill Mr Ree. Elegant dark slate with gorgeous dark eye. Generally well constructed and in very good coat for age. Matching angulation front and rear. Liked his outline and overall balance. Good neck leading to well fitting shoulders. Nice length of back. Moved with ease. Just preferred the type and substance of 1.
3. Finchs’ Dajue’s The Basie Legend

Veteran Dog (3,1a)
1. Ferrignos’ Chillibears I’m The One. I have a soft spot for plainly marked beardies and this one is no exception. Dark slate who is so reminiscent of his outstanding sire. Strong, masculine dog with great head and intelligent dark eyes. Seven is no great age for this breed as demonstrated by this boy. Really free and easy mover. Loved his enthusiasm. BV
2. Fiedlers’ Snowmead Syncopation JW. Old favourite of mine and still in good form at almost 9 yrs. Glamorous brown, who is also reminiscent of his own famous sire. Masculine head. Good length of neck, correct well-laid shoulders and level topline. Still in full, glowing coat of correct harsh texture. Sound positive mover in fit condition.

Novice Dog (6, 2a)
1. N. Unexpected For Pyesbridge
2. T. Shining Star
3. Finchs’ Dajue’s The Basie Legend

Graduate Dog (6, 4a)
1. Sewells’ Malandex Xactly Right For Kemelstowe. Impressive, charismatic, young brown. Shown in glamorous long coat of good texture. Super head and kind expression. Good forechest; correct long ribcage. Excellent length of back. Strong loin & well made rear with correct bend of stifle, correct croup & strong hocks. Well built dog with good bone but very light on his feet on the move. Sound from all angles. Immaculately presented. There is still more to come when he is fully mature. RBD
2. Simes’ Willowmead Furgus. Plainly marked brown of more old fashioned type than 1. Loved his dark brown harsh textured coat. Well proportioned head with dark eyes, correct bite. Good forechest, deep chest. Moved well with plenty of exuberance – obviously enjoying himself.

Postgraduate Dog (4, 3a)
1. Feltons’ Kittistone Sea Lord. Very impressed with this dog. Broad masculine head. Soft, kind eyes. Strongly made dog throughout with excellent bone without coarseness. Good sweep of neck. Good shoulders and upper arm. Long level topline with correct croup & tailset. Quality coat coming which is not yet fully finished. The icing on the cake is his smooth, flowing movment. Although he stood alone today he is a worthy winner in any company.

Limit Dog (5, 3a)
1. White’s Moonhill Power Of Dreamz. Impressive young mid slate dog with wonderful extrovert personality. Excellent head proportions & dark eye. Fabulous front construction which is a joy to lay hands on – strong, muscular neck flowing into well placed shoulders and then into upper and lower arms with textbook angulation. Level topline with correct croup & tailset. Just the right amount of quality coat which enhances his lovely outline. Confident, strong mover covering the ground with easy, long strides. A champion in the making who thoroughly deserved the top award today. BD & BIS
2. Molloy’s Nellbrook Apparition At Pyesbridge. Slate rather unlucky to meet the BIS winner here. Balanced, honest dog not overdone or exaggerated in any department. Good length to height. Deep chest. Body length coming from the rib. Overall shape very nice & demonstrated sound, true movement.

Open Dog (4, 1a)
1. Hales’ Damalek Dizzi Chimes JW ShCM. Dark slate of good breed type. Classic beardie head and expression. Soft, dark eyes. Good length of neck and correct lay of shoulder. Just the right amount of quality coat in glowing condition. Positive, sound mover so well presented.
2. Harkins’ Claudalla Doctor Marigold. Taller, brown boy with nice outline and in beautiful full coat. Attractive head and nice eye. Strong muzzle. Good length of neck, long deep ribcage and pleasing angulation. Extended well on the move.
3. White & Ellis Breaksea Allegro JW ShCM

Minor Puppy Bitch (4)
1. Evans’ Pattishawl Just Because. Blue with a lot of composure and poise for one so young. Enchanting head & expression with grey blue eyes that tone perfectly with coat. Ideal size and good length to height proportions. Good forechest & deep ribcage. Moved steadily & soundly.
2. Hall’s Bargemon Boadicea. Not as mature or as composed on the move as 1, but a brown baby who shows enormous potential for the future. Strong head with most appealing expression. Well proportioned & constructed throughout with particularly good front. Excellent loose, free and easy profile movement. Full of herself & having fun – just as a puppy should at this age. Just a little raw today but close decision between 1 & 2.
3. Pepper’s Megmaree Shear Perfection

Puppy Bitch (3)
1. More’s Balfarg Be Bop A Lula. Mature slate puppy. Strong head with dark eye & good pigment –gorgeous expression. Broad underjaw. Good length to height proportions. Well shaped long deep ribcage. Neat rear assembly with short, strong hocks. Her movement is fluid & effortless & she is so sound & coordinated as she floats round the ring. BPIS
2. Hine’s Diotima Sweetheart At Ramsgrove. Dark slate puppy of super type. Feminine head/expression with darkest of eyes. Going straight into her adult coat which is of good harsh texture but lacks length at the present. Showed real scope and extension on the move and very sound both front and rear. When coat matures she will be hard to beat.
3. P. Just Because

Junior Bitch (11, 3a)
1. Spurriers’ Geliland Magical Breeze. Totally my type. Feminine dark slate of ideal size with stunning head & expression & mesmerising big dark eyes. Good length of neck. Good forechest. correct ribcage. Balanced, flowing outline on the stand. Well made rear with correct bend of stifle, correct croup & strong neat hocks. Elegant, effortless mover with super head carriage. Real prospect for the future.
2. Clack’s Sengalas Indiana Star. Another top quality junior. Daughter of my BIS and many of the same comments apply, particularly about excellent front construction. Slate in mature coat for age. Super head, correct stop, dark eye & good pigment. Balanced angulation front & rear. Strong mover who really covers the ground well. Just preferred the more flowing contours of the outline of 1, though they will swap places many times.
3. Harkins’ Claudalla Jenny Wren

Yearling Bitch(9, 2a)
1. G. Magical Breeze
2. Betts’ Pipadene Time To Dream. Very taken with this quality youngster. Strongly made yet feminine. Dark slate with beautiful head, strong muzzle & attractive dark eyes. Lovely overall balance and construction. Well angulated shoulders, deep correctly shaped ribs. Length of back coming from ribs. Excellent rear angulation balancing with the front. Flowed around the ring with easy ground covering movement.
3. Hoods’ Bryonyhill Miss Tickle JW

Veteran Bitch (7, 4a)
1. Goodyer’s Barkly Blaireau Pretty, elegant dark slate, almost 8yr. Beautiful head, eye & expression. In lovely coat. In fit condition, which enabled her to move soundly & freely.
2. Sullivan’s Navillus Spirit Guide. Not as glamorous or coated as 1, but nevertheless a very nice 8 yr old lady who is well constructed throughout. Moved well, particularly in profile with good reach balanced front & rear.
3. Kitchens’ Port Of Call Copper Camio

Novice Bitch (6)
1. D. Sweetheart At Ramsgrove
2. C. Jenny Wren. 3rd in strong junior class. Glamorous well coated young lady in really good condition. Attractive outline on the stand and well constructed all through. Most attractive head and appealing expression. Perhaps because of the floor surface today she did not extend on the move quite as much as 1.
3. Buckley’s Pelido Mello Cello Of Holtend

Graduate Bitch (7, 1a)
1. Gilberts’ Athemburgh New Beginning. Slate in full bloom. Looked a picture when handler free stood her – lovely neck & flowing outline. Excellent forehand construction. Correct shape & depth of ribcage. Well made rear & strong, neat hocks. In full mature coat of correct texture. Really moved out well – a quality bitch of lovely type who is now at her best.
2. Lawrences’ Shilstone Chiclana At Colepark – 3yr old with dark brown coat of good texture. Strong but feminine head. Bright, enquiring expression. Very good front assembly – good lay back of shoulder and long upper arm. Sound mover coming and going, and extends well in profile. Just needs to finish in coat to complete the picture. Showed well today.
3. Bowdens’ Subessen Land Of Grace

Postgraduate Bitch (8, 2a)
1. Cantys’ Bargemon En Vogue. Another lovely dark slate who is very much my type. Broad yet feminine head, appealing expression, correct front, excellent length of back, good rear. Her balanced construction is put to full use on the move when she covers the ground with long easy strides.
2. Hough’s Seacharmzed Moonbeam. Attractive dark slate with really dark eye colour & pigment. Pleasing head. Nice lay of shoulder, correct upper arm. Excellent ribcage. Strong level topline of good length. Nice rear, correct angulation. Good, controlled mover.
3. Hudsons, Damalek Diamond Chimes At Skyebucks

Limit Bitch (9) My hardest decision of the day between 1 & 2.
1. Clack’s Moonhill Simply A Dream. She simply has it all. Young brown lady who for me combines perfect balance and construction. Owner presents her so well – lovely to see her joyful spirit and her tail wagging in the ring. Mischievous expression – honey coloured eyes toning with coat. Presents such a pleasing picture standing but it is on the move where she really excels - she is so effortless, agile and fleet of foot. It was this stunning movement that gained her first place. A lovely beardie who thoroughly deserved her success today. BB & RBIS.
2. White’s Moonhill Zweet Dreamz JW. Classy, elegant mid-slate lady with the most superb front. Strongly built yet totally feminine with very pretty head and sweetest of expressions. Her lovely neck blends into perfectly laid shoulders and long upper arm. Deep correctly shaped ribcage, good forechest & long ribs. All this covered in a beautifully presented coat of correct texture and quantity. On the move, this excellent front coupled with corresponding rear angulation results in light, easy ground covering action. The third from this litter to take top honours today – congratulations breeder. RBB
3. Feltons’ Kittistone Call Of The Wild

Open Bitch (5, 2a)
1. Sewell & White’s Moonhill’s Free N Easy For Kemelstowe. The darkest blue beardie I have ever seen with equally dark blue pigment and eyes to match. A quality bitch soundly constructed in all departments. Excellent length of back, wonderful condition and super coat of such good texture. Her movement is free and easy and she holds her topline well at all tmes. Expertly presented & shown.
2. Colwells’ Ch Pastraka Enchanted Star JW ShCM. Mature slate in extremely good coat and condition. Broad skull, good pigment, correct bite. Large, gentle eyes but to be hypercritical would prefer them a shade darker to match her dark coat. Adequately constructed throughout and beautifully presented. Just preferred topline and length of 1.
3. Bowdens’ Bendale Love Me Tender At Subessen
